It’s sad that some of my favorite shows ended or went on hiatus this week. Top Gear still continues to get better and better. I love a good TG episode that involves the British Army, and Clarkson’s match of British Bulldog with tanks and a rally car was no exception. He was even crazy stupid enough to use live ammunition. Good news: the BBC has confirmed that the Top Gear trio will be back in November.
Yesterday I watched one of the most amazing documentaries I’ve ever seen, Afghan Star. I knew it would be interesting to see how an American Idol-like show does in Afghanistan, but it also showed many interesting insights into their culture and history. I had no idea of the how influential religion and the Taliban has been. I was really moved by the challenges that the people have had to overcome and the changes they’ve seen. It made me realize how blesses we are to enjoy our freedoms and really be a “light unto all the nations.” I would highly recommend seeing it.
I loved watching So You Think You Can Dance last summer, and this year is no different. From Bollywood and waltz to Samba and Broadway, SYTYCD has got it all. After watching last night’s performances, I still believe that the guys this year are strong than the girls. I haven’t tonight’s results show, but I predict that Evan, Ade, Jeanine, and Jeanette (maybe Brandon?)will be in the final four. There are amazing performers and performances on the show, and one of my favorite routines from last season was nominated for an Emmy (Mark and Chelsea dancing a Mia Michaels’ piece to Leona Lewis’ Bleeding Love).
So this last weekend I went to see (500) Days of Summer, and it by far the best and my favorite movie that I’ve seen so far this summer! The soundtrack is also just as legendary, so go listen to it on Lala and prepare to be amazed. I will reiterate what the narrator says [...]
I really, really like watching movies. If I was any more artistic, I would somehow try to get into the film business. The next best thing will be hopefully someday owning my own movie theater. Not a big chain, but a smaller, independent theater where I would show less “mainstream” films. 500 Days of Summer [...]
So you may be addicted to reading my blog. That’s great, and I’m flattered, but don’t read any more posts until you go see Disney’s Up. Pixar has done it again and made a super awesome movie that is funny and has a great story. So far this summer, Up and Star Trek are the [...]
A trailer finally came out for one of the coolest movies coming out this year! Robert Downey, Jr. stars as the one and only Sherlock in a darker version of Sir Conan Doyle’s famous detective. Check out the trailer and get ready for Sherlock Holmes that’s coming out later this year. <— Trailer link I’ve [...]
